1.    Edmodo
*This is a wonderful tool for using social media in the classroom. Edmodo works as an online classroom. You can store resources, pose questions and get comments in an updated feed, and even create and administer quizzes. A great way to communicate with students and foster collaboration in the classroom. Almost like a Facebook for the classroom with a lot of cool features for teachers!
2.    Pixton
*This resource allows students to make comic strips. Students can create one by on their own or work collaboratively on a comic strip over the Internet. Students can then share their comic strips using social media.

3.    Notaland
*This tool acts as an online whiteboard wiki and allows students to collaboratively create brainstorms, presentations, and scrapbooks.

4.    LiveBinders
*This tool acts like an online binder or folder where you can keep all resources and documents for a class. The class can then access these binders when they need the information. The tool keeps everything organized.

5.    Animoto
*This tool allows you to create videos and slideshows and then share them using a variety of different social media. The tool is available as a web tool or app.

6.    Stupeflix
*This tool allows teachers and students to create videos using photos, videos, music, and text. Teachers can create a classroom account, invite students through email, and monitor all student activity.

7.    PhotoPeach
*This tool allows teachers and students to create slideshows using pictures, videos, and music. Text can be added to the pictures. Slideshows can then be shared via social media.

8.    displayAnts
*This tool allows the user to maintain a display board with the ability to “pin” photos, videos, presentations, and documents. This tool allows for interactive comments.

9.    Edu 2.0
This tool is an online community for teachers to collaborate as well as an online classroom for teachers to manage students and for students to collaborate. This is a cloud based resource. The homepage is modeled after Facebook with a continuous comment feed.

10.  Symbaloo Edu
*This resource allows teachers to organize and share Internet resources with their students. This resource encourages communication and collaboration among students. This resource also allows teachers to connect with other teachers for collaboration.

11.  Collaborize Classroom
*This is a collaborative platform for teachers to collaborate with teachers, teachers to collaborate with students, and students to collaborate with other students. This site is safe and password protected to provide safety and privacy for the teacher and students. This tool allows conversations, polls, debates, practice tests, projects, an library for online resources, data, student grouping, and student/classroom evaluations and reports.


12.  edublogs
*This tool is a blog dedicated to schools and classrooms. Both teachers and students can create and maintain blogs, create videos and presentation, and the site has MANY safety and privacy features. The teacher has full control over monitoring student content as well.

13.  Kidblog
*This blog website strives to improve the writing skills of students through blogging. This site is completely user friendly and gives the teacher total control of the student accounts. Students can post and comment in discussions, create an e-portfolio, allows the teacher to assess writing in a variety of different ways.

14.  Teach ade
*This is a free online community for collaboration among educators. Teachers can find lesson plans, documents, worksheets, resources, and myriad of other educational resources. Teachers can also chat or post in forums about education. This is a great way for teachers to learn new ideas and teaching techniques from educators all over.

15. Twiducate
*This is an online social networking site for students and teachers. Teachers create a class, get a class code, and have students join by using the class code. Students can use this tool to ask/answer questions, collaborate on projects and studying, and can even embed pictures and videos. The teacher has FULL control over the classroom account and can use the account for posting discussion questions, deadlines, and homework.

*This article describes 25 different ways teachers can use social media in the classroom. There is a nice infographic that can be printed. This graphic cites the 25 different ways to integrate social media and then suggests a social media tool to be used by the teacher. A very interesting read!

*Edudemic is an online community with a huge number of articles pertaining to technology in the classroom. There is a tab dedicated to social media in the classroom. This tab features the most current information about social media and how to integrate the tools into the classroom.

*This is an online community which allows teachers to share lesson plans and collaborate on ideas. There are resources on general education, subject matter education, and the new Common Core standards. There are also articles that address timely issues in education. This is an online community specifically for teachers to share their knowledge. The resources are free!

19. Curriki
*This is a global online community for teachers to share ideas, lessons, resources, and find information for Professional Development. Teachers will have the ability to post, share, and comment on postings and lesson plans, chat with teachers around the world, read or participate in blogs, and take polls regarding education. There is a newsletter which keeps educators up-do-date on the latest educational practices.


20. Qwertytown
*This online resource teaches keyboarding to students. Students learn how to use the keyboard by advancing to different levels and being rewarded for their success. Students can reinforce their typing skills by participating in an online community with other students. They can chat and comment on posts while the teacher has full control over student communications. Teachers can assign digital assignments and customize based on their student’s learning abilities.
